Leonardo da Vinci
For our research project this year, we will be learning about Leonardo da Vinci. The intention of our unit is to explore why Leonardo is considered the ideal Renaissance man, and ultimately answer the following questions:
- Who was Leonardo da Vinci and how did he exemplify the Renaissance period?
- What were Leonardo da Vinci's core beliefs, philosophy, religion, causes and/or contributions?
- Do you believe Leonardo da Vinci's creative genius is best demonstrated as an
artist, a scientist, or an inventor? In which of these three arenas did he make his most important contributions? - Why is the work of Leonardo intriguing even in modern times, and how does his work
continue to make an impact on our current society? - Who would you nominate to be today’s version of 'The Renaissance Man’?
Your answers to these five questions will take the form of a blog, 8-10 "Philomandents", a 4-6 paragraph letter, a comparison chart, and a PowerPoint slide.
